Social Frisbee
Run without noticing you're running
A team frisbee game with simple rules where everyone plays, even people who have never thrown a frisbee.
Want to keep up your cardio? Running does the job, but... lots of people find it boring and struggle to stick with it. We looked for a game that ticks these boxes:
- You run a lot without noticing
- No special gear or venue needed
- No complicated rules
- Everyone plays, whatever their level
That's how we invented Social Frisbee.
Unlike Ultimate Frisbee, which has lots of rules and where the disc tends to go to the strongest players, Social is light and free of complicated rules, and you can't win unless everyone on the team takes part.
How to play
Split into two teams that play against each other. The team holding the frisbee passes it between its players. The goal is to complete a round where the frisbee passes through every player on the team, without being intercepted by the other team.
How do you make sure it reaches everyone? Whoever catches it first says "one", the next says "two", and so on. Everyone remembers their number, and when the frisbee comes back to them, they just say it again.

In a team of five: the frisbee came back to player 2, so she says "two" again. At "five", the team scores.
When the frisbee reaches the last teammate who hasn't touched it yet, the team scores:
Meanwhile, the other team tries to intercept the frisbee. As soon as they do, they start a new round and count from one, and the team that lost it starts from zero. It sounds more complicated than it is. In practice it's the easiest thing in the world!
The number of points needed to win depends on team size, and after every game the teams are reshuffled.
Why it works
A team can't score unless the frisbee has passed through every teammate. The less experienced players are always part of the play, in every round. Nobody is left on the sidelines.
